Something New

I don't want to find another you, it's true.
All I want to find is something completely and utterly new.
Something black, something gold, perhaps green or navy blue,
Maybe one, maybe none, how about all, or just a few?

However in between these lines is where the contradiction therein lies.
For I won't find this new "it" in an infinite number of tries.
Like the forced patron cries onto the ears of deaf replies,
The world will smirk and scoff as it distastefully deprives.

And yet I know it must be out there, my something new that is.
Now however I am morose, because it was something that I did.
So hopefully some day I'll find this something new I want,
For if I dont, the rest of my days this feeling will surely haunt.

So recently we have been building some wooden dinosaur models over at work. It's been a little slow, sowe have to do something to stay busy. So this bad boy is our crown jewel. The wingspan on our Pterodactyl is just about 12'. Today, well, yesterday I suppose, we hung it in our warehouse so it can look after the shop. Check out the hanging process here.

Looking

Sitting in a railway station,
they all have tickets but no destination,
as disbelief grows with proliferation.
How have the masses all lost sight of the conductor?

When daylight breaks,
the beast awakes,
finds the weak and tries to suffocate.
Hopefully the weak succumb to strength.

Pessimistic counterculture
gives fuel to the f-stop vultures,
creating distorted overtures
that no one has the ability to hear.

In such emptiness, the world subscribes,
to bright facades full of lies,
while realities are hastily passed by.
What will it take for them to see?

Nothing is better than...

a good live album. With that, I give you a list of my favorite live albums. A few of these are bootlegs, but most are legit albums. Any of these do it for you? Some others perhaps? Let me know!

Marielle's Song

So recently, while sitting in class bored out of my mind, a friend of mine suggested that I write her a song to cure my boredom. Being the avid writer that I am, naturally I took her up on the idea. However, I told her that all I was really able to come up with at the time was a love song. She was fine with that concept. I mean really, what girl isn't going to be fine with a love song written about them? So, here we are, five days later, and I have completed what I so affectionately refer to as "Marielle's Song". It's a shorter tune, I wasn't really going for something incredibly long, just something fun and playful. Since I don't play guitar or uke well enough to come up with music for it right now I am not sure what chords/chord progressions would be used for this little number, however I can tell you that the way I sing the phrasing, it would be either a slow bluesy or sort of a surfer reggae acoustic tune, probably along the lines of Jack Johnson circa On & On. It's also probably around 60-ish bpm if that helps any of you. Hope you like it. I also wouldn't mind if you hated it. So, like the title of this entry says, without further adieu, I present to you...

"Marielle's Song".

(first verse)

Well hey there pretty lady how are you doing today?
What are you doing tonight, would you like to go play?
Just let me know, if you're free, and you want an adventure.

Sometimes I wonder if you know how pretty you are,
because your eyes are shining brighter than the North Star,
or the Milky Way, wherever that is.

Please give me a sign, please give me a conclusion,
these feelings that I'm feeling cannot be a delusion.
Just give it a try, just give me the time of day.

(chorus)

Well I'm singing you this love song, and I want you,
to really pay attention.
Because I'm singing you this love song, and I'm bettin',
that by the end of this song, you'll want me too.
Yeah I'm singing you this love song, singin', singin'
Singin' you this love song, lady just pay attention.

(second verse)

Ok so I get it I'm not a perfect ten,
but lady you're a twenty so you make up for me.
Now by my estimation, that makes us an excellent pair.

And when you are around all I can do is smile,
because I haven't met a lady like you, in a while.
I'm thinking I won't again, for another long while.

So by now pretty lady I am sure that you love me,
but all you want to do is just stand there and hug me.
So why don't we start to get busy, and take care of business?

(chorus after perhaps some type of bridge solo)

Well I'm singing you this love song, and I want you,
to really pay attention.
Because I'm singing you this love song, and I'm bettin',
that by the end of this song, you'll want me too.
Yeah I'm singing you this love song, singin', singin'
Singin' you this love song, singin', singin'
Singin' you this love song, singin', singin'
Singin' you this love song, well lady, it's your song.
